Dr. Lyron Andrews
Dr. Andrews’ career in technology spans three decades. His roles included network manager at the New York City Department of Education, Bertelsmann Music Group Direct senior director of IT, and Bank of New York Mellon dean of technology. His doctoral research found that critical thinking skills thrive in environments that are supportive of five essential elements in the mind of a critical thinker.
He currently works as a K-12 Google Education Think Tank advisor facilitating design thinking sessions in Austin, Texas; New York, New York; and Mountain View, California.
He teaches cyber security. He has integrated technology management with teaching at Columbia University and other institutions in 30 countries. Other activities include:
· Manages leadership training and organizational transformation
· Co-author of two (ISC)2 certification publications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Cloud Security Professional
· Works with Suffolk County Deputy Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis and Court Judge Fernando Camacho to reduce prisoner recidivism
· Facilitates transformational storytelling and design thinking sessions addressing social-cultural barriers and workplace integration issues
